A new decision today by the Agency for Registration of Businesses of Kosovo (ARBK) has announced the cancellation of the previous day’s decision, which revoked the suspension of the business certificate of Klan Kosova LLC.
In this decision, it is emphasized that the acting director, Pranvera Prestreshi, has been involved in circumstances of conflict of interest, as she has a relative who, according to ARBK, works for Klan Kosova, a fact that is unfounded.
According to information from other media sources, Ms. Prestreshi has been dismissed from her position as acting director, and in her place, Ms. Lebibe Haliti has been appointed, who is the sister of the deputy from the “Vetëvendosje” Enver Haliti.
The decision also has a legal advisory, which states that “the dissatisfied party may file an appeal with the Appeals Committee for Business Registration within 30 days from the date of receipt of the Decision” within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade.
Klan Kosova has expressed surprise at this new decision by ARBK, less than 24 hours after the initial decision, and will take all legal steps to restore legality in this matter.
At the same time, Klan Kosova continues to believe that the recent actions, as well as today’s decision, are a clear trend to hinder the functioning of independent media and freedom of speech.
Klan Kosova, as until now, will inform all media organizations and journalists in the country and around the world, diplomatic representations, and accredited international missions in Kosovo about this step.
